Exactly as pictured and described. Enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.
The value for price was adequate - it wasn’t expensive so didn’t expect a lot. The place was clean but definitely dated. It’s obviously an older place and has probably settled a bit as some of the doors would stick and require hard tugs to get them to open/close. The door to the upstairs bedroom with the king sized bed wouldn’t close at all because it was off-plumb. I will warn that the stairs to the second floor are very steep and shallow, obviously not to current code standards. Be very careful if you have small children or elderly. It was a bit of a trek from the highway to the house, it takes about 15 mins to drive 6ish miles, and was further away from town than I realized, my error though for not paying more attention to that. Ultimately it was a decent value for the money but it’s unlikely I would stay there again.
Great cabin and views!
Overall, I had no complaints with the house’s working order or cleanliness. The Host was very pleasant and quick to respond. A few things to know before going. The house is kind of old, but everything was in great working order. It did only have one shower, but it does have two bath tubs, so that was challenging with 6 adults. While Sitting on the back porch you can’t see what is going on on the lake because the view is obstructed by several small trees. Lots of yard space if you have children. We seen squirrels and deer every morning while sitting on the porch drinking our coffee. That just added to the experience. We had a wonderful time spending time with family.
this place was great. Roomy, clean, close to the boat ramp and had a rocky beach in front of it for swimming.
Great location! A little dated and could use some paint to brighten up the place. Only TV in bedroom was tiny with the VCR combo. Place was clean. You can walk right down to the water and load up your boat on the shoreline. Private dock is not part of this rental but we found it easy to access by boat.
Overall we enjoyed our stay, it was peaceful and relaxing. Even though it rained most of the week I sat on the covered back deck and looked over the lake. The view to the lake is hampered by all the trees but that is no fault of the owner as the Army Corps own those trees. We did use the pool and it was very nice and the guy working there was great. I was $4/person/day but my little one loved it. Another thing to note is that there is a large floating dock on the water in front of the house and it is private so you can’t go on it, it also took up some valuable lake viewing area. I would definitely consider renting this place in the future.
Rustic experience close to the water.
This property was a perfect getaway and was privately situated near the lake. The porch that faces the lake provides a relaxing retreat for self reflection and renewal. To that end, there are a few things to note about this property regarding the lighting.
If you plan to be outside, the street light at the end of the street has a loud buzz that can impact your time outside. I would highly recommend the owner install a dimmer over the dining room table. It was a bit bright! And finally, the kitchen is very dark, and it would be nice if there were extra lighting over the stove.
Although the lighting seemed to be the highlight of this review, the cabin was simple and quaint and is dog friendly. Overall this rental was worth the money and I would stay here again.
This place was awesome. Right on the water with a nice big back porch facing the lake. Id absolutely love to stay here again! Very peaceful
Overall, a very nice stay. The Good: The place was very clean! (Which ultimately to me is the MOST important thing!) It was on a somewhat flat piece of land right on the lake which was awesome. It was of course on a hill, but i did notice that the beach area had only small rocks. The beach area on each side had big rocks and was difficult to walk on, so they clearly cleaned it off and made it more comfortable. Management was great - absolutely no complaints with them. We stayed for four days and they came by and picked up the trash at least once during that time. The Neutral: yes there are signs letting you know that you are not allowed on the dock. I don't know why people make such a big deal out of this. Clearly, the dock is not the property of the owners. Other people (probably those in the neighborhood) have boats on the dock, and they don't want people messing around on it. I don't feel like it was that much to ask for. The owners, I feel were just doing their due diligence to be sure the occupants know that this is not allowed. The Not So Good: It was incredibly warm in the house, even though temps outside were mild (mid-80s). I definitely wouldn't want to stay there in the summertime. The appliances and utensils were cheap and outdated. There weren't any frills. I think a little bit of TLC (for a minimal amount of money) would go a long way. Overall, I would definitely stay again - in the winter.
The good: This cabin is in the perfect location with a flat, easy walk to the lake. There is plenty of space and privacy so it is a good spot for friends to gather. Communication was good and contactless check in could not have been easier. The not so good: I found the threatening signage throughout the cabin to be a bit much. A sign on the refrigerator warns you with many capital letters and exclamation points that you could be evicted without refund and possibly criminally prosecuted for trespassing on the dock, a sign in both bathrooms warns that you could be charged for any plumbing fees if you clog the toilet, a sign on the wall in the kitchen area reiterates all the rules about dogs, a sign on the living room table warns you not to sit on the couch with wet swimsuits. I think just including this information in the house rules and foregoing all the signs would go a long way to making the space feel more comfortable and welcoming. There is only 1 drinking glass in the kitchen so you have to drink water out of small coffee mugs or huge plastic margarita glasses (which was actually pretty funny). The toaster is from the 80s and despite getting dangerously hot to the touch it doesn't actually toast the bread. Overall the place is beautiful and comfortable and we really enjoyed our stay. I think a $100 trip to Target and taking down all those signs would make it a 5 star stay.
Great spot. Close to lost bridge and easy walk down to the water.
We had a great weekend in a good location! Great amenities that allowed us to do all of our cooking and feel comfortable. Thank you for such a clean place.
Beds were some of the most comfortable I've ever slept on. We enjoyed watching the deer that would come by everyday. The last day there was a group of 7 that came up really close to house.
Right on the lake! Cozy and a great price.
We enjoyed our stay for Spring Break. It’s close to hiking trails, an hour from Eureka Springs and you can sit on the back porch and see the lake.
Our family of 4 had plenty of space and did not see many people in the area while we were there.
The kitchen is basic and provides the bare essentials.
Everything was clean and well organized when we arrived.
We enjoyed our stay. It was nice and peaceful.
Great view of the lake, nice little cabin.
Great cabin, great location, was an awesome time for the whole family!
It's a very comfortable cabin and has all the things you would expect and need. We had a very warm and welcoming greeting that offered plenty of advice about our stay in the area.
Wonderful, relaxing family oriented cabin! Enjoyed local fireworks all three nights. Community center and pool provided a nice break from the lake. Many places to visit within easy driving distances was an added bonus for our getaway. Hope to return next year!!
